Damn - that looks good! You are right that gorgeous metallic blue of the motor plate contrasts so well with the bright orange spur! 8)

Bit sad that you can find the gearbox out of an R/C car sexy lol :!:

LOL! True...

I've done the rear suspension now too, just got an issue with one of the hubs binding the bearings as the pin is a very tight fit. I need to relieve the hole in the hub a little, or take a little off the washer (might be easier!)

The rear end looks awesome with all the blue bits and the shiny MIP CVD's, I'll get some pics up soon!!

Assembled the rear suspension over the last couple of evenings, most of the Trinity blue parts I have are now out of their packets

I am happy with the way this is going so far, I am using XXX rear hubs and pivot, i had to modify the rear pivot plate slightly as the wishbones sit further inboard compared to the XX which caused the wishbones to rub on the plate. Easy enough to sort though.

I removed the standard CVD bones an replaced them with some shiny, shiny ones!! :D :D :D

Also using new style ball studs with the hex in the top, and nitrided hinge pins, naturally.

Note also the old-skool Trinity brace without those awful 'ears' - that part was NIP from Rick (thanks Rick) and I have yet to see one come up for sale!

Cheers for the comments chaps! Nice to get some feedback on the trucks progress.

Last night i finished up the first set of wheels I have for it, by painting the wheel discs, one of the most prominent features of the XX series.

The rear wheels are new but had gone quite dull when I got them, so I soaked them in some 6% peroxide for a few days, and they came out nice and bright! In fact they came out brighter than the NIP fronts! So I also had to soak the fronts for a day or so, just so they match! :D

Ba-Bling! 8) Absolutely stunning! - those wheels with the orange discs are going to look the business with the orange spur, great colour combination. I would like to find a full set of original wheels/discs for my XXT to replace the RPM wheels.

Still very jealous of your small Trinity transmission brace - although the 'eared' version is growing on me :)

Dan....must be the photos....the spur and discs are red

I have a spare set of new front wheels/discs if you want dood. There was a set of rears on the 'bay last week, but someone snapped them up!

I had to get my rears by buying a NIB XXT that came up last year! I ripped the bits out I needed then sold it on...

Ben - I must admit on the screen they do look red/orange, I guess I was anticipating the fact that the camera for some reason cannot pick up Flouro Orange (like the old Mclaren F1 cars) - either way its gonna look 'hot'

I'll reply to your PM re the wheel offer

I am still after another 'CR' set Dan, but these will do for now. In fact I have had these ones for quite some time now.

Oh dont worry, I am far from giving up! In fact its mostly built now, I just need to assembly the steering and we're there...and then time for some photos...

In fact I think its gonna look pretty sweet next to my XX which is very similar in style, it will look like its bigger brother.
