Jay Halsey Jrx-T Replica / '91 Florida Winterchamps
i've wanted one of these freakin' things since they came out. when i started racing in '91, i had to get a junior-t since that was what i could afford at that time. it worked out for the best though, since i mopped the floor with every 5 link jrxt i raced against. but i digress........
i did some trading with bill, and got the truck from him that he had picked up from a co-worker. the thing is is real nice shape. the only thing it really needed was a pair of rear lower shock mounts... which i already had. i tore it down, cleaned it up, and put it back together a couple days ago. i need to tear the diff apart again since it doesn't feel as good as i hoped it would. i'm actually gonna tear the whole truck back down again so i can put the clear protective film on the chassis. 3/4's of the way through the re-assembly i figured i would run it at the '09 v-nats if i make it there. the chassis on my rc10 got hammered up there last year, and i don't want that to happen to this one. i've had the robinson racing gear adapter that i took off my junior-t about 15 years ago when i sold it. so, it's found a new home on this. but, brandon gave me an idea, and if i can make it work, it'll be coming back off. i'm also gonna add some lunsford turnbuckles and rpm ball cups at some point in time, and pick up a set of the hpi super star rims a jconcept tires to use on it for the race. along with some other misc. stuff (springs, spares parts, etc.). i did some trading with tulsa to get the nip jrxt body, and i just got it trimmed and mounted tonight. hopfully, i'll get it painted pretty soon. anthony hooked my up with the heavy duty bellcrank arms and a couple of the decals i need for the halsey replica paint job i plan on giving it. i still need to find a couple of the other decals, but they'll show up eventually. i was a little hesitant about using this body on the truck to actually race it. i figured i'd just pick up a body from mcallister. but since brandon will be popping them out eventually, i thought what the hell.
so anyways.... here it is.

I remember when they 1st came out. If it wasn't for the Losi truck, we wouldn't have had the 10T to run against it.
It was definately the 1st factory race quality truck. Everything else at the time was modified to perform, or was a buggy conversion.
Once the Blackfoot/Monster Beetle & buggy conversions lost favor as race trucks, they were all anyone ever heard about in the early 90's.

I'm not sure of the style, but they are Sees. They came with the truck. Maybe Brandon (bngiles) will pipe in and let us know...Diggley wrote:RedScampi wrote:That's a great looking truck! I just recently got one of those too.

Re: JRX-T....... finally
Beautiful T,Brother.
I'll never part with mine...Hey,I have some Andy's front arms you could bolt on for the V-Nats to keep those nice stockers scrape free?
Let me know,I'd gladly donate 'em.
How 'bout running a McAllister body at the V-Nats?
They sure fit nice...And look good.

Re: JRX-T....... finally
Well, I am a bit picky to say the least. I think it is a great body for a runner though. I am glad it is going to be used. I won't lie, I am a bit sad I didn't keep it, lol.scr8p wrote:and i thank you for not liking the few flaws and sending it back to scot.Doc J33P wrote:Edit: Read it again.
