Stock Jrx-2 buildup

This is my most recent rebuild. it has all of the early version parts that I posted in my obsessive variations thread.
Note that there is not a single aftermarket part on it unless you count the robinson pinion. It has a losi stock motor (label colors are reversed from the boxart but it's all I've got) with a 24t pinion and 82 spur as per the original manual. I have not decided on a speed controller for it yet. I have a vintage painted body in decent shape, but I think I will use one of the forthcoming repros and paint it up like the one I had BITD.
I ate a lot of cookies I shouldn't have while building this one, it took all the willpower I had to build one up stock.

I still need to find 2 more thin black spring clamps. I have a NIP pair but they are grey, I don't have enough of either color to make a matched set of 4

Lets see her with the vintage paint scheme. Beautiful by the way. Did you piece it together or buy a kit? I am at the beginning of building one up.

yup and from the pics it doesn't look like you have it, soooo close to have a stock x2 Anthony j/k it's an awesome build and it surely misses a nice body and wing whether painted or not. You're also missing an old thin shock clamp it seems... Kudoz mate!

It has the thick front shock tower, same thickness and material finish as the rear.
The clamps, I thought I had a matching set of black, but when i opened the package they were grey. I looked around my parts bins and found 1 thin grey clamp so I have have 3 grey and 2 black that are useable, and a whole bunch of broken broken black clamps. Eventually I'll straighten that out.
I would consider a boxart paint scheme, but that is way beyond my skill level. I'm more of a 2 color single piece of masking tape rattle-can type of painter.

Anthony, I will see if I have any of the skinny clamps left. I know there were thinning out, I might have one or two. Not sure which color.

Maybe dye a grey shock clamp black?

Dr, I don't thing Losi used the type of plastic that can be dyed... they certainly aren't made from any form of nylon.

only with rear h-arms. they won't work with the 5 link.

That's looking pretty sweet buddy.

My suggestions, I believe the antenna tube should be an off white/natural color. A set of 1200SCR (or maybe just SC) batteries would be sweet, of course the 1400s aren't far off. The battery braid instead of bars is a nice touch.

What servo ya got? I like the Tekin receiver too, I’m not sure but I believe it fits.

Be careful with those orange rims, if they are early they crack real easy.

The servo is a futaba S-148, with the old style logo plate.
Both front wheels are hairline cracked on the suspension side around the bearing holder. It is not visible from the outboard side, and I have no intentions of running this one so it will do. The old plastic must be rather fragile as both appear to be in great shape other than the cracks, I don't imagine they were run much, or at least not by someone with my driving skills
