YZ-10

Post by Brandon G »

This car is finished with exception of the paint. Body courtesy of Mr. Lexan. I plan on doing the RCCA ad scheme, still hunting the Yokomo decals though.

Got the car a long time back from Eau Rouge, minus electrics (it did come with the SCR cells and a Twister Mod motor which is now in my Topcat). It also had the RPM rear diff housing which I replaced with an original and was missing the rear sway bar.

SRS makes total sense to me. Is there any toe-in built in? I remember seeing a couple sets with that option back in the day!

That looks really sweet, turned out like I would want my own to look like when I'm done. Looking forward to the paint job you give that Protech IV body.

Got this piece NIP from Erich a few years back at the Vonats. Just now getting it installed. Center layshaft with one-way bearing and stealth slipper. The hobby shop price tag on this one item was $89! No wonder I didn't run a Yokomo when I was a kid! :D

Notice the crap growing on my rear bulkhead..... Not happy about that.

Wow, that thing is super clean. The old Yokes have to be one of the coolest looking cars.

Nice job. :)

We built our house back in 1999 and I just got a bunch of YR4 items. I polished the bulkheads and the other magnesium parts and was very happy with the results. A couple of months later, I noticed that they were covered in a gray "mold" (oxidation). Turns out that the freshly pured foundation in the basement still contained alot of mositure...and it took a couple of years for the moisture to completely evaporate. I bought a de-humidifier for the basement and I never had problems with the bare aluminum.

In addition, I repolished all of the magnesium and clear coated it with paint. But instead of using just plain clear, I used transparent blue...so it looks anodized. It still looks perfect.
