End Of The Line YZ10

Post by bscotti »

The last of the YZ10 line ... 1997 conversion for the 1995-1996 chassis.

From Dual's timeline ...
Mid 1997: Upperdeck and Shock Tower conversion kit for the YZ10/Worlds Edition.
Not a complete kit but these 2 parts combined allowed Pavidis/Worlds Edition owners to convert their cars to a similar specifiation as the one Masami Hirosaka used to win the 1997 IFMAR Worlds Warm-Up at the Ranch Pit Stop. The 'Sky Scraper' Shock Towers and Spring Set-up Upperdeck were a stepping stone for the design of the 1997 Worlds Winning MX-4 and later became standard features on the production version of the MX-4.

Now, for a full 1997 replica, a few other parts are required ...

I started with a very clean 1996 Pavidis and went to town. It took 6 months of looking and quite a bit of luck to source all of the parts. I have a special paint scheme in mind, just have to find the time to shoot some paint. Enjoy!

Just let me know where and when.

If you don't run a Yok at the V-Nats, I am never speaking to you again.

BTW, did you go to the IRL race this weekend?

don't worry, Jay, I'll have a Yoke there. It's on the bench waiting to be torn apart and prepped.

Nope, that race is just not that exciting in person. Plus, the way the tickets are priced and how "restricted" the access is, it's just not worth it. I'm used to the smaller events where I can go anywhere I want, including the garages, for the general admission price. Half the fun of the race weekends for me is talking "shop" with the crews and race drivers.

Hey Brian, is that the end of the line for you too then???
How about the midmotor conversion?

It looks real good, kinda makes my fingers itchy ;)

What is the package on the top right in your first picture?

pretty much for me too, Ed. I had a Millennium Ed MX4 slip through my hands which is the ultimate find, but ended up going for a ton of $$$. I'd like to snag a real nice RPS SE to have the full Yoke line up.

The top right package is ZD-304S: Machined Aluminum Motor Mount. It's a real nice part that also has belt tensioners (just ball bearings used as rollers) for the front and rear.
