Datsun 240Z Rally Car by slotcarrod

Post by slotcarrod »

Ok, not the body on it now. I have seen a few rc rally vids on youtube the last few months and I was very excited to try it out. I went out and purchased a new 240z DF03RA. I did not want to waste the nice 240z body in the dirt so I purchased a 200mm HPI Evo VI body and some 6mm offset wheels to fit.

That's a nice rally car you got there :D . I have only recently got rid of my DF03ra Celica kit, there really are a great car, the only thing I would recommend is to fit a Slipper Clutch, and get a set of Heatsink bars for the motor mount as there isn't much breathing room around the motor, especially if you are running brushless like I did in mine.... otherwise, just enjoy the great handling and the mass of Hop Ups available for this chassis!

Thanks for the tips. I have had my driving time with this car and I think it will become a shelf queen with the original Datsun body and wheels on it! As much as I love WRC.... I just did not have much fun driving the car by myself! If a few guys had them and you set up a rally course, that would be different!

You got it, if someone had a rally course near me i definately wouldve kept mine, it just isn't practical when you have Losi trucks zoomin arond ya- you tend to get used as a speed hump!!!

I still have my 73 240z I drove during college; gonna have to pick up one of these too. I had no idea this particular model existed, very cool! Thanks for sharing

They both look great. Rod, yours is so true to life.. Fantastic look to it.

Kinda brings me back to when they were not that old of a vehicle, mind you I am not that old...
