That is a very cool bit of r/c history. If it's something that interests you and you had $200 that you didn't need for bills, then it was a good deal. :wink:

i do have bills lol, but couldnt resist a 70's car in sweet shape. gonna either restore the hell out of the body or find a repro, maybe add some vintage electronics too lol. ill post pics once i have it cleaned up before/after

ya i would think so too, just so little info out there on them. ive seen other 1/8 scale cars of the "era" sell for well well over $500 and some dont have motors, just a aluminum chassis and axle/steering parts, along with a raped body.

this one should clean well, maybe i can resell it for a profit, that would be a new concept lol. buy something and resell instead of hoarding.... hmm lol

i will try to write it down step by step lol.. luckily i dont collect on road at all really.. but this car is such a novelty i might be tempted to keep it

looks close, but i think these kits came with like hard plastic tamiya like molded shells, but we'll see i guess.

I have seen MCE's come with three different types of bodies, fiberglass, some type of stryene, and butyrate. You have to remember when these thing were on the market technology in terms of bodies was changing fast and was just then becoming what you see today.

its actually immaculate condition as far as underside and wheels go, i dont think it was ever run to be honest.

ANyone have any suggestions on a motor i can use? it came with a Enya 19-V model 4005, i think its period correct, but does anyone maybe a better suggestions or should i stick with the enya?

I would suggest sticking with Enya as the thread of the engine nut, length of flywheel and clutch set may not match.

just polished er up a bit and completely rebuilt it. looking for replacement gas tank and motor, working on that now.

thanks steve, working on the body now too, just got it primed and finished, loooking for a sweet candy red paint now.. gonna hit willis hobbies tommorow
