Hot Trick RC10 Build
well i had a ton of HT parts from random lots i bought and such, so i threw together a car of the extra parts and red dyed misc parts i had lol. came out alright. only part i wanna replace is the left side chassis brace which has extra holes drilled in the side for some reason.
Stupidly, i even made a tranny brace using a extra broken hot trick chassis i had, but i made it for a stealth tranny stupidly enough, which obviously, isnt too period correct for this car lol. gonna head back to the shop tommorow to make a normal brace and a battery brace made from the red chassis stuff.
Still gotta find a tranny, trying to win a MIP tranny right now on the bay, we'll see what happens
also waiting on tower to ship me a protech body and the spazstix anodized gold and red paint, and gonna come up with some sort of cool paint scheme

That's awesome Mike, I love those full HT conversions, so vintage... I admit it would be a crime to drill the chassis to accomodate a Steatlth tranny, but if you want to stay period correct, I doubt the RPM bulkhead and rear arm mounts actually belong to the period you're targetting... Now I have a request for you, if you have enough material left, could you have a tranny brace cut out from the same chassis for me? I would also go for a classical 4 hole for a six gear! Cheers

Re: Hot Trick RC10 Build
i know the rpm stuff is a bit later, but honestly it was already red and im lazy, plus i dont have too many "clean" bulkheads at the moment to even dye. ill probably switch them around as parts come in.
im gonna cut some more braces later today, ill make a few from this chassis, i "believe" i have enough material to do it. it was a swiss chesse chassis that broke, but it was "never run" for the most part i believe.

Re: Hot Trick RC10 Build
i used a scroll saw and drill press to cut them, took me like 15 min for both, the fiberglass cut and sanded very easily to my surprise., i gave them a "post" sanding after the picture to make them perfect, and they came out pretty nice i think

Getting the radius on the ends of the battery straps even is pretty hard without a guide. Nice freehand.

Re: Hot Trick RC10 Build
yea, scroll sawing is tough, a little trick i picked up is to rub the scroll saw blade with a good amount of beeswax when cutting metal or fiber or anything OTHER than wood, and you get a pretty smooth cut.
