Finally…a build thread of my own! Updated
Well I finally collected enough parts to complete a couple of builds I’ve been planning. The first of which will be based on a brand new Parma D&D graphite chassis. I’d say about 75% of the car will be built with nip parts with the rest I just cleaned up as best as I could. You can see most of the stuff I’ve gathered in the first pic, not everything is in there and I decided to use gray team shocks instead of gold. I have to give a big thanks to a fellow board member Brian (rc10resto) who as it turns out lives less than a mile away from me for hooking me up with the litesink motorplate. That was the one item that kind of held me up.
arms from rubbing. A little more progress, bolted in a freshly built six gear with all new bearings and gears. I’ll be keeping things updated as I go along. As a side note I’m stoked that one of mrlexan’s Turbo Mirage shells will sit on top of this once it’s done (just received).
Thanks,
Dave
After a little assembly.
I cut these out so I wouldn’t have to notch the chassis in order to keep the front arms from rubbing. A little more progress, bolted in a freshly built six gear with all new bearings and gears. I’ll be keeping things updated as I go along. As a side note I’m stoked that one of mrlexan’s Turbo Mirage shells will sit on top of this once it’s done (just received).
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Finally…a build thread of my own!
Looking great so far, I always love build threads. One of these days I will get enough time to get started on my own.
Definitely gonna be a nice shelf queen you got there.

Very nice looking chassis. One item I would add is an RPM rear bumper piece

Thanks for all the compliments guys I can't wait to get it all together.shodog wrote:Very nice looking chassis. One item I would add is an RPM rear bumper piece
Hey sho are you talking about a rear motor guard? Because I originally wanted to add one but can't bring myself to drill the holes for it, that's why I went for the litesink. Or are you talking about something different.

A real connoisseurs build, fresh parts in packets collected to create an awesome car
. There is nothing better than starting a new build after collecting the parts for ages and seeing them all there ready to be put together.
Great stuff!

Thanks for the compliment, as far as the tranny plug goes this one came on a buggy I got in a trade. I know I saw them available bitd as an aftermarket item possibly Robinson racing products RRP. Someone on here will know better than I do, I wouldn't mind finding out myself.vintage racer wrote:What have you used to seal the bearing hole on the tranny?

Looking good Dave!
But hurry up and complete the build so that we can see if it will clear Steve Dunn's triple jump at the Teen Center

If by this you mean clear the other three shelfers then of course it will. It'll be able to leap tall buildings in a single boundRC10resto wrote:clear Steve Dunn's triple jump

will you have to modify the RPM gear cover to fit the litesink motor plate?
