Jammin Jays 4WD Prototype RC10
Hello all. I just ran across this in an article I found on the 1st IFMAR World Championships. Jay Halsey drove a Prototype 4WD RC10. Does anybody have any info on this car? I also saw in the results that Eustace Moore was there with an Assoc-MIP car, but Jay's was listed strictly as Assoc? Here is the picture from the article.

That was the one Curtis came up with. I believe they were plagued with mechanical breakage. Hard on batteries too.

and no archives or pics from Team Associated on the car.
The 3rd at the World 85' is Eric Soderquist and not Paul DIONNE !!!

Did Jay actually compete with this car?
I remember another thread in this forum where it said they were given a car for trial by a driver who made it at home. Can't find it now, but it had pic(s).

Re: Jammin Jays 4WD Prototype RC10
I posted the results above that are in RC Modeler. It shows that Eric Soderquist finished 6th? Maybe the article is incorrect? I wasn't there, so I don't know.prp wrote:View this topic,

Re: Jammin Jays 4WD Prototype RC10
That is the car Jay Halsey finished 2nd with at the IFMAR World Championships in Delmar, California. Gene Husting's video #10 tells about the car and the race. Jay almost beat Gil Losi Jr. as Gil took the first race win, Jay took the 2nd and Jay was leading almost right up til the end of the 3rd race when he got balked by lapped traffic and Gil took advantage and got around. Also Paul Dionne from Canada finished 3rd and there's a picture of the 3 together after the race. Gene said he doesn't remember where the car came from and thought maybe Japan but it had a lot development issues. Roger Curtis and Jim Halsey worked very hard on it and got it squared away and Jay adapted his driving to the new for him 4wd very quickly and but for a little bad luck he might have been the winner and double world champion.
