well, it looks as if i have to restart my search for that f#&kin' decal. looks like the package was lost in the mail. i had a tracking number an everything, but it never updated on the usps site. like it was never scanned into the system. but it would seem to me that his p.o. dropped the ball. he said he knows he shipped it, and i have no reason to not believe him, with his feedback rating, and the fact that it looks like everything else he sold around the same time, everyone received their item. the seller was cool and refunded my money, so i'm not out anything............... except the damn decal.
who knows, if it's out there somewhere, it just might show up one day...........
sr8p i thought i had one, since i am color blind i asked my neighbor what colors i had. he told me i had yellow, baby blue, and a purple one ( wich is the one i thought it would be) if i run across a royal blue one its yours

ya i know. but, i just can't justify buying an entire decal sheet for just the one decal. but i'd drop $17 on parts that i didn't need just to have the decal that was in the package.
also, if the guys that bought one of your sheets were willing to offer up their "spare", ruffy would've had one last year when he asked.
apexspeed wrote:You know, in 1984/85, there wasn't much for R/C cars in graphite parts... I'd bet that Halsey's chassis used fiberglass that was dyed black. I might be wrong, but it'd also be cheaper and WAY easier. Or you can wait to find a Composite Craft front shock tower on eBay. I've seen a couple here and there (found one for myself, actually).
Oh, and the graphite Chad uses is woven carbon the last time I checked. Won't look anything like what was around in the 80s.
the only thing that is making me think that it's graphite is the fact that i had the correct shock tower for this replica. if you look in the pic of the car, do you notice how much longer the tower is above the shock? the one i had was exactly like that, and it was a woven graphite. it had 4 upper shock holes, instead of 2. the lower ones were the same as a stock shock tower. it gave you the option of running .71's on the front. the thing about it that makes me mad, i cut it up to make body mounts out of it like 6-7 years ago. i never thought i'd need it, and wasn't into restoring rc10's at the time. the funny thing is, i saved the lower part of it, for some reason. so i was able to send chad a pic of what i needs to look like, plus extending the top on either side. the graphite will look different, but i can live with it. actually, the shock will hide alot of it. here's one of the pics i sent to chad, just so he could get an idea of what i wanted.
well here is mine i found it on ebay orginal rc10 graphite. iam in the process of doing a car also.
halsey used a stock fiberglass tower and dyed it black. i thought it was graphite back when there was only a few small pics to be found (7 years ago). it's not.
the one you have there is from parma (or composite craft i've come to find).
Glad you're finally getting one, mate.... I can't see myself finding another big pile of JG bits again..... and I think most of those in the photo I posted have already left the building!
Look forward to seeing this baby finished.

I've only got a pink and a black in that style decal or I would've helped you out. My LHS owner thinks he's got some JG parts in his storeroom but I haven't been able to coax him into going to look for them. They probably all got those blue decals in the pack.
To start this off, I would 1st like to congratulate Jay Halsey himself on winning the 1st ever IFMAR OffRoad Worlds in 2WD, and sending the RC10 and RC World into a spiral of evolution that has taken the RC10 to many subsequent World Championships!...

Love these jay halsey builds I styled my b6.4s with a touch of this styling. Still want to add black front wheels. It’s not as detailed but is a bit of a throwback.
Just picked this up from eBay. I'm pretty sure it was owned and raced by Jay Halsey. I'm surprised no one else bid on it. Probably put the correct 6 gear tranny and milled motor plate and everything else period correct if it's legit. Comments?...
The postman came yesterday with this very clean RC10 that was already fitted with a Jay Halsey paint scheme body (though not totally correct according to some of you), but that will be do to start an interesting project... Scr8p already helped to...

A lot of people forget about the orange stripe, but he always had it.
Ugh, my camera keeps making my parts look yellow, maybe it is the color of the blanket under the car... oh well. Here is a work in progress. Thanks to Sofa King for the Jammin Jay body. If you want one, he may have more, but I am not sure.
Thanks...

Well he does have 4 nuts and two are bigger than the others. If you ask me that's not normal and worth a look.
maybe thats why he's so popular wit' the ladies. 8)
I used the search to no avail, one of the guys here built a replica to the RC10 that was in the Jammin parts ad. You know, the 2 page spread.. It had the long shocks in front with the Jammin Jumper body, solid dished wheels with Losi tires... Can...
i've wanted one of these freakin' things since they came out. when i started racing in '91, i had to get a junior-t since that was what i could afford at that time. it worked out for the best though, since i mopped the floor with every 5 link jrxt i...

i've never got a definative answer on that, but it's most likely just a stock fiberglass tower, with 2 new holes drilled lower than the factory ones to gain more ride height, and then dyed black.
