Funny how time flies...

A few of my early threads were effectively rebuilds of cars that I have to this day. I thought to consolidate threads and bring the $35 RC10 full circle.

This buggy ran, bashed and raced. Here is a link to $35 RC10 RTR: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=433. Here is a link to SS Hobbies 2006 Run What You Brung race: http://www.ronniesetser.com/ssr_gallery/SS_Hobbies_and_Raceway/Dirt_Oval/Run_what_you_brung_6-03-07/index2.html.

I am the goon in the back right. My childhood RC10 is in the center of the pic, the $35 RC10 is to the right. Ronnie, the owner, ran the $35 RC10 and won the three car vintage race. I came in a not-so-close second

At one point the buggy saw a McAllister front lowering kit. I thought the kit necessary to fit the Bolink body. I later realized the body would fit with the stock shock towers and reverted back to the original setup.

Not long ago I stole a very nice graphite runner on epay. I say runner but it was mint. I kept the rims, tires and steering setup and moved the other buggy on epay. Turns out someone on this site ended up stealing the equally nice graphite runner I moved on

This buggy will not likely see any more major rebuilds. The right side rims have approximately 1/4" stagger. Luckily, the body still fits nicely and will never be properly mounted. I am happy with the progress to date but trust a wrench will need to be turned at some point :D

Heck yeah! That is a sweet looking body for that chassis and I love the look of the chassis color and wheels. Looks awesome like that. 8)

Hello , nice looking car you have there. I've got a build I'm doing that's similar to yours.how did you mount the body and what do you mean it won't be properly mounted?

Thanks! There are a number of ways to mount the body, the easiest being three long posts - the front mount angled back in original location, the rear two in the most rearward holes in the line of chassis holes.

I only used two posts in the original locations to mount a truck body in the original pic. I actually mounted my bomber body the same way. After many races, that is probably the only reason the bomber body is still in one piece - it moved

Obviously there are a variety of bumpers, mounts and scrap available that can be customized for the body. I choose not to mount the body "properly" because I think it sits perfect and will not be run anytime soon 8)
