Re: My B1.5 project Builds

Spring is here now and looking forward to turning new laps this year with the 1.5! I decided to take a different approach to this since I'm sorry to say, the custom body part of the project wasn't going anywhere  … SO I decided to redesign the chassis instead of redesigning the body!

Lots of thought and design time went into this and I think it will be a slam dunk this time 8) Besides the chassis itself, I had to make a few more custom parts like the nose tubes and chassis stiffeners to make it work. The buggy will fit pretty much any rc10 body now and an rc10 or t2 under tray . I did a JConcepts Detonator Worlds for it, just to be different. I need a few small tid-bits here and there, but it's pretty much ready to go. I'm planning to run this of course, most likely will be a castle system

Here's some photos of everything up to this point for those who are interested, cheers!

Thanks guys! 8)

Before I made the fiberglass chassis I shortened the runner chassis/nose tubes and moved the servo holes backwards accordingly. If you're wondering, the spacing is the basic equivalent of the hole spacing on a truck nose plate. I drove it in both configurations and In comparison long vs. short, the short turned far better. Despite this, I'm not ever going to shorten a brand new chassis so that is really what fueled the fiberglass chassis version. At some point I would like to get back to the shortened t2 tub chassis version and get that tub refinished, it looks god-awful!

As for the fiberglass runner, I really enjoy driving it! Not a fan of the bolt-on nose, but maybe I can have a chassis with a kick made. It currently has 15 degree blocks up front, RPM large bearing hubs with 3 degree mounts, CVA drive shafts and a B3/T3 slipper clutch.

I'm still trying to dial in the shocks but that's only because I haven't experimented enough with springs/pistons/oil.
