Re: New to me 10GT
Ive always been a truck over buggy person. This was number two on my list, (first was my first hobby grade car). Not sure what my third is going to be. Have a while to track down all the decals for the box art look.

So that pipe fits well? That's the one off the Serpent right?
Piece of art BTW!

Re: Romus22's box art GT
That's the Serpent pipe. The exhaust hanger bracket in its factory hole in the chassis sits right where it mounts to the pipe. Im 100% certain this is the pipe in the picture on the box now I have it in hand and on the truck.
Side by side with the factory pipe.

Getting closer.....
Big thanks to Vintagemishal for painting the body for me and doing a perfect job. Only a few more correct decals and a few other minor things and she'll be a proper replica. Since its just a shelter I think I'm going to leave the windows. I'm undecided if I want to cut them yet.

Too cool for words!
Where did you find the engine? I have been looking for one of those for a long time. I have seen a few pull start versions but never a non pull. Can you give me any more info on the pipe? I have always heard that the box pipe was s Paris. That one certainly looks right though.

DHood sold me the engine. And the pipe you probably know just as much as I do. I just found it on a car on ebay and had to buy a bunch of stuff to get it. I don't have a part number and I've tried to research paris racing pipes but I find very little info on them. I'm still on the search all the time cause the one I have has some rash on the bottom from being on an on road car and dragging the ground. Was a little disappointing when I saw that but I was expecting it. Would have been too lucky if it was in perfect shape.

I know what opinions are like, but I still like to show mine. I would definitely not cut the windows on that beauty. Looks killer just as it is.romulus22 wrote:Since its just a shelter I think I'm going to leave the windows. I'm undecided if I want to cut them yet.
Not to mention George Carlin is one of my all time faves and I smile every time I see your avatar.

Very nice!!!!!!!!
It's stuff like this that inspires me; sadly not enough time to work, race, write and restore....
