Race setup for 10T
Race setup for 10T
Does anyone have a setup for the 10T they are willing to share? My track is 140x90, loose and not very techical. Thanks in advance.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Define loose- clay/sand/soil? What tires are others running there? Other than that I run a large outdoor from time to time with my 10T. Mine is-
Front-
32.5 AE oil, #3 pistons, blue springs, 3 internal spacers (thin black), 30* caster, middle mount on shock tower and inside hole on arm, 2 washers under steering links. And 1oz nose weight mounted on top of bulkhead
Middle-
Battery cup relocated to right against servo, 2 oz in rear battery cup/bulkhead +1large foam spacer, 1/4 oz behind esc and reciever.
Rear-
27.5 AE oil, #2 piston, green or silver springs, inside hole on tower, middle on arm, 3* toe in at arm mount & 1/2* at hubs (T4.1) long wheelbase at arm mounts, graphite trans brace and 2 washers between motorplate & chassis mount.
Also using a B4 V2 slipper setup
Running Jconcepts blade fronts and Goosebumps rears

Re: Race setup for 10T
I am trying to get a more modern setup for super grippy, tight, bumpy, indoor dirt. We are running pink taper pins all around. Any good setups? So far, Im running box stock and the truck has almost too much traction. Thanks for any replies

Re: Race setup for 10T
thats kind of how 10t's are, tons of traction and more steering then you could ever want. (which is why this truck can still kick but on the club level vs modern trucks)
try some double dee's to loose a little traction if the track is that tacky and tapers have too much traction.
try the above in the shocks, either what charlie or i posted, IIRC you'll need pistons, box stock uses #1's all around i think.
how's the ride height? i like my 10t's low.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Thanks for the reply. The truck really is stuck to the ground. I will double check my pistons and shock weight before my next test day or race. I am coming from 2wd and 4wd mod buggy. This huge wheels, 17.5 and grip is different, but fun and refreshing. Almost relaxing!
This is a great forum, thanks for having it.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Jumping on the bandwagon here! But I'm just trying to get my 10T up and running and don't have a clue on setings - we run indoors on a mix of carpet, wood and polished floor with some jumps.
(Tyres are Schumacher yellow mini pins on the rear with Schumacher yellow staggers on the front)
I'm also after a gearing recommendation for an 8.5 - the truck has been upgraded to a B4 slipper.
Can anyone give any advice please? Thanks

Re: Race setup for 10T
i use novak's gear guide as a base:
http://teamnovak.com/tech_info/brushless/br_gearing.html
so using that it suggests a 10.5 fdr, a 10t stealth has an internal ratio of 2.25
so
spur (84t) divided by pinion (18t) multiplied by internal ratio (2.25) =10.49999, so i'd start there and check temps.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Thanks for the setup.
Above setup worked great at my local track today. I must admit, the longer wheelbase felt way better for my twitchy hands.

Re: Race setup for 10T
bumping this thread for new folks who want to race their 10t's.
i'm about to break out my v.o.n.a.t.s. 10t and race it in local mod truck classes. lots of guys are trying to bring the class back.
i almost bought a t4.2, and still might, but i love the way the original 10t drives so i'm gonna have a go at the new trucks for a while before i join them.
right now my setup is very close to the setup charlie dont surf posted. i'm running a tekin rspro with a tekin 7.5 motor, b4 top shaft, ft ti turnbuckles, rpm ends, rpm arms, stock white plastic everywhere else, fiberglass towers and top load gold shocks, new style mip t4.1 cvd's, spektrum 6040 servo, turnigy nanotech 5300 90c battery (have shorty's too but will try the brick first), proline suburbs (m4) all around to start, indoor), t3 body.
i should be able to race it next week, i'm waiting on a few parts to arrive.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Thanks for all the info gents. I disassembled the 10T a while back in order to build a buggy out of it. However with my local track being more suited to 1/8scale gas, I've decided to rebuild the 10T and have my soon to be step son, who's never had any experience in RC, drive it for a while. He's eager to learn and I'm even more eager to teach. Thanks guys.

Re: Race setup for 10T
Oh, one more thing. Do you guys think this setup would work for a T2 and a T3? I have those too.

Re: Race setup for 10T
from your t2 thread from a while back:
templeofspeed wrote:
On the T2 we used to run 35/30 f/r 3's and 2's f/r, silver front green rear. Inside top, outside bottom both front and rear. Also worked good on GT's with the update rear shock tower. Well worn Edge tires in M2 front, whatever was hot in the rear, usually Square Fuzzies in M2/M3 or Silver Ifmar pins. We didn't run any limiters inside the shocks because of the shock placement...
