cab foward

Post by popboy905 »

This may get me banned, but i wouldn't mind seeing a cab forward body option for the worlds release and re classic. We had the parma eagle, g force body's, back in the day, maybe even a mid cab body like the xxxcr.

it would nice to have a option and keep the rc10 the most versatile car in history

Seriously though, having the option might make a few people happy, but I doubt it would sell. How many people willing to disadvantage themselves (albeit slightly) with an old design care about the small advantage of a cab forward body? I know for a casual racer like me the looks aren't worth it.

the jc detonator does move the windshield farther foward then traditional rc10 bodies.
thats as close as we have to a cab foward body.

if people really start racing there re-re worlds, i think having the option would be nice. If everyone has a mirage, it kinda gets stale, even looking at modern buggies the cab forwards have gotten stale. look at how many different options there were back in the day for rc10 bodies! Even through the rc10 is a vintage car, there shouldn't be a purist view on what the car looks like, there were so many hop up's to turn a rc10 into what ever the trend was, trailing arms, mid motor, on road, off road, truck, sprint car, oval etc.... If everyone has a mirage, it kinda gets stale, even looking at modern buggies the cab forwards have gotten stale.

i doubt it would happen, but it would be nice to not have another reharsh of a old body and have people complain about widow nettings. At least jconcepts put out something new, whether you like it or not it is a different option

Well I don't see a cab forward body for the worlds or classic coming soon. And to reverse things I don't see a vintage looking body soon for the new b5.

Ok I'm a bit ambivalent about cab forward either way but what are the hypothetical advantages?

The advantage is front downforce.

Placebo effect although if a cab forward had any chance whatsoever of generating more downforce, it would be on a car like an RC10 where the front shocks and tower don't completely block all useful airflow over the body like current cars do. People today also mount their wings down low behind the car where they are less effective as well. A front wing was an option on RC10's back in the day. They look better than any cab forward body ever produced and actually do work.

I'm glad he was smart enough to mention the placebo effect too.

Since this is a car thread.. Placebo affect = Chrome Eagle Syndrome.

If I win the Main with a Chrome Eagle hood ornament then next week everyone has a chrome eagle hood ornament.

While speaking about it with Ty Tessman and his Dad, they said he lowered his lap times significantly. I find this sad though! I use it on my B4.2 and B5, have not run the B5 yet, but found greater steering with the B4.2!
