.89" front shock swap
Who has done this swap? I can find complete kits on Associated's website, but not the individual shafts. Closest thing I found is a .80" shaft, pn. 9723 for B4, B44.
Current:RC10T, T3 FT, GT Blue Tub, GT FT, GT2 FT, GT5, RC28, SC28, Micro RS4.
Previous:B2, B3, B3 FT, 10T pink chassis, GT FT, TC3, TC3 FT, RS4MT
Tamiya TA02, Thunder Tiger TS4N pro, Kyosho VoneR, Emaxx, MX4, MP 7.5, 7.5 Kanai.

Re: .89" front shock swap
On a B3 for example the shock body is a .89 but the shafts are .71. Part number 6460

Re: .89" front shock swap
Interesting info there GoMachV.
Looks like I'll have to piece together the setup I want then. Going with .89" V2 bodies with .80" shafts.

Re: .89" front shock swap
I think the longer bodies are to achieve less displacement from the shaft. Even the B4 uses .71's. If you want travel you could consider 1.02's and get less displacement (you need more air the farther in the shaft is driven, which means a bigger bubble / more foaming).

Re: .89" front shock swap
I run .89/.71 shafts on most of my 2wd buggies. They are great. The .80 shaft was for the b44 series, which needed a bit more stroke than a 2wd. Keep in mind, the stardard front buggy springs are really short...the .89/.80 combo may need to have tons of pre-load

But the b44 with those shocks also ran a different lower spring retainer also.
