Custom Modified RC10 Box Art... on a B4.1?

Post by UltraHIVE »

Hey guys, I fell in love with this color scheme when I did one for a gold pan. So, I swapped out the Bulldog for a Protech on my B4.1 runner. It took some extra trimming, and is held on with velcro for easy lipo access. If you're wondering, I switched up the front end with leftover B44 parts, so that I can swap wheels with my XX4. I plan to run it this Saturday, check it out before it gets dirty... 8)

This looks really sweet, like it was meant to fit.

That looks awesome! Is that +8 chassis or standard length?

Wow, fits like a glove! I may have to consider putting a old school RC10 body on my B4 down the road. Looks great!

thanks guys. its the standard non 8mm chassis, but im sure these bodies can be trimmed for one. the chassis could use some shaving on the sides actually, its slightly buldging right now, hard to see it in the pics. I might do a Masami Viper for it as well since I still have a set of dyed pink wheels left over.

I wonder if this would work on a B5 instead of that horrible cockroach/grasshopper body. My guess is no since the B5 chassis appears to be shaped differently.

That looks awesome. Not sure what I like better - the paint job or the fact that it's on a B4.1. Great job!

im sure it would fit, but the fact that its a narrow chassis might leave the body loosey goosey, ya know? you might have to use some lexan scraps bent in a way to make up that space, velcro them on somehow then the body to them. cant hurt to try... i hated the stock XX4 body so I modified a B44 Bulldog body to fit. I learned to take my time while trimming, ruined the first attempt

Well, this thing is so cool that you convinced me to get one for myself! I won a NIB B4.1 Worlds on ebay Sunday and am going to build it specifically to run a protech body! Thanks for making me spend more money! :P

I really dig that colour scheme. Did you use two different blues or fade white and black behind it?

thanks...

yep, i left the front very light with the light blue spray, so that white seeps through a bit. its all rattle cans, so thats the best fade I can do with them.

i think its tamiya bright or light blue, tamiya or pactra metallic blue, pactra outlaw black, spax stix mirror chrome, and white backer.
