Worlds build - my first runner
As mainly a Kyosho and Losi fan, I've not spent much quality time with RC10s of any generation. I have a few in my collection and restored a couple before the Classic re-release, but I've never actually driven one
Time to change that. I scored a Worlds kit on Ebay with a painted body for a fair price a couple months ago and decided to assemble it into a stock-ish runner. I'm also finishing up the build of a Losi Pro SE, so hopefully I can stage my own shootout between them.
On to the pics. Just a basic stock build with a few upgrades along the way. The transmission has problems with the internal mesh and I have a new USA 6565 case and idler to use, but I hate the flesh color of the 6565.
So, I dropped some white RPM ball cups into my morning coffee to mellow the color. They are now a decent match when compared to some kit parts, although a touch too dark. I think I let them brew a little too long (about 2 minutes). I also dunked the stock green ball cups for grins. Obviously, their color didn't change much.
Mounted up with some Lunsford turnbuckles. I'll have to deal with the interference between the inner camber link and steering ball cups at some point.

Nice work, just built mine too and intended to take great pics like you but I failed. I had the issues with the gear box not being smooth as well, solved same way as you.
What you going to do with it?

Pick up a pair of the shorter ball studs and install them on the tower. You should be good after that.

Good idea on the coffee by the way. I am actually debating whether to whiten my next resto. The parts aren't that yellow and sometimes the whitened ones don't look right to me. But I digress. I will use this coffee trick. Reverse whitening, who'd a thunk!

Nice paint and nice work w/ the coffee tinting. Looking good. Nice looking turnbuckles... been debating between the Retro and the Punisher ones for my kits.

Re: Worlds build - my first runner
Thanks all!
I plan to do some club racing with it, along with my Pro SE.
I think we are in the same boat... Losi fans going to the dark side

I wish I could take credit for the paint, but it was done by Ridgeway Bodies according to the Ebay listing. I'll probably do a one-can-wonder spray job on another body for track duty.

Re: Worlds build - my first runner
Looks awesome. Just started building my first ReRe kit... the transmission case was so bad, I couldn't even get the halves to go together (w/o the gears)... brutal.

Re: Worlds build - my first runner
Some pics from the shakedown run today. Got 2 packs through her with no problems. The track was in poor shape, so I couldn't really get a good feel for the setup. I'll have to get back on a practice night when the track is prepped.
A boring video of a lonely RC10 on an empty track...
