Wheel help

Post by martinthegenius »

Im sure both of these topics have been discussed before, but cant seem to find the postings. It would help if the forums had some sort of a search box to search through poststs, but anyways got 2 questions.

What dimmensions/ where is the cheapest place to buy replacement bearings for all the cheesy bushings in the vintage rc10s? ( I know tower hobbys sells them but the price is outragious, and im pretty sure some reasonably priced bearing companies exist.)

Also, if i wanted to buy new rear/ front tires for the stock rc10 graphite car that would holdup on asphault and other sorts of pavement where might i find them? (my rims are stock just painted black, measurements are close to perfect, but still approximates)

You can buy bearings at bocabearings.com for 99 cents or avidrc.com for $1.

You pretty much can't find any tires that fit the stock wheels. There are some tires from Traxxas that will bit but they are your standard buggy knobby tires. There is a pinned thread here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8848 with instructions for changing to modern 2.2 wheels.

ok gonna check out the wheels thing, but as for the bearings- simple 3/16 x 5/16 flanged (depending on purpose in vehicle)FOUND THESE!, but there are these other two that supposedly are 3/8 x 1/4 Unavailable but (close to the readily available 3/8 x 5/8 -------- 5/8 is close to 1/4 or 4/8 Possible fit here?)
The 2 that arent like the rest of the bushings on the car are located in those gear things that stick out of the transmission and contain the drive shafts connecting to the wheels

Yep...I have a kit that should be here anyday now....@ $17 for the econo set, $55? for the nice, sealed bearings.

if you have marketplace ability you can post a 'wanted post' for some in that part of the forum. Someone around here has to have something for you that they are willing to sell for the right price. Otherwise Losi 1/10 scale slider tires are 2.0 tires with a street type tread along with Losi making a 'step pin' type tire in a 2.0 along with the traxxas ones in a pin type tire mentioned in the thread link above.
Good luck with your quest.

If you change to the 3/16" axels, Custom Works wheels and tires would work.
