Box Art Shocks and Shock Collars

Post by CNA75 »

I've noticed that the picture of the RC10 on the front of the original boxes includes shocks which are natural aluminium collar and collars which are anodized in gold. Were these ever made as part of the production line? If so, has anyone heard of them being up for sale at any time (i.e. if I wait around long enough, will I be able to get hold of them)? See picture below for reference:

associated never made them, they MIGHT of been parts from rc500/100 shock set, im not sure, but they were never made for a buggy there. JG/Hot trick/kyosho made some that may have fit, along with a few other random companies. i dont think they were too "popular" back in the day, because if you tighten that screw just ever too tight, it will mess with the shock piston and cause friction.. kyosho shocks fall into that problem.. its gotta be just tight enough not to pinch the body, and even then unless there are multiple set screws, they tended to move up and loose their position.

somebody custom made some recently on here, i lost track of the post. contact paragu2000 on ebay, maybe he can custom make them, he does anodizing as well for his stuiff

thanks for the helpful post. I've bought some wheels off pargu before so maybe I'll get in touch with him and see what he can do.... (the wheels were good quality!)...
