Murray Hewitt was the man who invented "Little New Zealand", he's basically a genius

Would also love to move to New Zealand but I will stick that in an other post. I really want to know more about Canada, what it is like to live and work there and becoming part of a community. I am at work right now so this has to be quick but I will go through the replies and PMS properly tonight.

Thanks everybody for your thoughts so far,
Andy.

Move anywhere in the Rockies. Canmore, Banff, Jasper, Lake Lousie, just to name a few in Alberta. My personal favorite would be anywhere in the Okanagan Valley (Vernon, or Kelowna) in British Columbia. I have a buddy who is into all of that who lives in Squamish, BC and loves it...it's not too far from Whistler. I used to like in Vancouver and Calgary...you can do everything from a short distance from Vancouver. And you can do everything from an hour or so from Calgary.

I'm in Calgary. Fantastic city and only an hour from the mountains. I do single track dirt biking, camping, fishing, trail rigging, rock crawling. Great fishing on the Bow river, they say best in the world. Two out door off road tracks and one play track at the local MX park (no indoor off road tracks  ), an indoor on road track during the winters. There were lots of jobs before the recession, things are looking better as the oil prices go up. We are a oil town, Alberta is debt free. Free health care is good. Houses are expensive in Calgary. Winter sucks but in and around Calgary we get regular chinooks (warm spell) that makes it ok. Just to sum up a bit!

Many Brit cops have joined the Calgary PD in the last year. That bastard Stu is here from Scotland and he should pipe up on this!

My girlfriend really wants to go to New Zealand, and so do I to be honest. I will definitely be looking into going out there as well. Lucy, my girlfriend spent some time in New Zealand and ended up staying in a ski resort for a month - of all places. She loved every minute of it!

Sounds cool, up for being able to drive an hour or so for skiing/boarding, mountain biking. Loads of places for me to look check now.

Yeah, I met a lot of people from Calgary when traveling - all really sound. I imagine snowboarding/skiing in the winter then mountain biking, camping, walking in the summers. One question I should ask; how cold does it get in the winter? I watched the show "Ice Road Truckers" and in some places its gets really cold

If i do end up uprooting to another country my RC collection will be heavily hit  just means I will have to rebuild it when I settle

Thanks for all of your help 8)
