what is the length, or "driveline" of the track? this is a really hard question to answer without knowing that. I'm guessing as well to get where you need to be speed wise you're going to need to go down on spur gear size, probably like a 78T gear, and probably starting in the low to mid 30's on the pinion. Brushless motors are low rpm and high torque. On some of the bigger oval tracks with a 17.5 or a 21.5 drivers will often use very large pinions and get close to 1:1 pinion to spur ratio.

I race a Rc10 graphite buggy sprint car with a cage on it and a 7x7 wing on a 250 foot loose dirt track. I have a Mamba 6900 in it with a 87 spur and a 16 tooth pinion. I have also put a 5700 in it and put a 20 tooth pinion on it. Temp. of the motor is around 140F. I tried smaller spur gears but did not like the feel. Didn't have the punch I wanted. My best lap was a 6.54. Race at Maryville Il. Hope this helps.

HELLO this is Don. OK both of those ideas sounds good from both of . Sunday depending on weather I will race this one for the first time, With my other one that I set up but not with the set up I have now . I run a 13.5 with a 78/28 along with a set of truck silver pins and it seems to run out good.
BUT this one I just built I am not sure. Right now I went to an 81 with a 28 so I am hoping it wont get to hot or something goes wrong. reason is that is what I ran on my RC 10 T that seem to work out night and it works good with my gold pan SO I am open to all sudjustions and ideas. O ya I am also going to be runing a 3800 lipo . So any more ideas from any one elest . Thank you to both of ya. DON
