Instructions for Kyosho Le Mans SPA 240WS Motor

Post by CNA75 »

I recently bought a NIB Kyosho Le Mans SPA 240WS motor for my nib optima build (should be sweet!), however, the motor did not come with the instructions. Does anyone have a copy of the early Kyosho motor instructions that they could scan in to this thread so that I can see how to set the motor up properly (e.g. fix the capacitors, set the timing, clean the comm, etc)?

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Really there is not much to do to set up.

No different to any other motor.

If you are using a 2.4g radio caps arent necessary.

Timing is set on 0. To advance the timming you undo the 2 small phillips screws on the end bell and rotate the opposite direction to rotation in forward..

To rebuild its no different to todays mod brushed motor.

To be honest its only a 18d so won't be fast at all to todays 19t. Torque will be way down too due to the magnets sitting for 20yrs .

Will look great in a sahelf queen but thats it.

It was the first motor to be on the market with Wet magnets ( process to form the magnets) in its day.

Was OK in mod but the 240 S was just as good if not a little better.

Thanks for the helpful info. Sounds like it should be a doddle to fit! I take your point re the comparison with today's motors, however, the aim of the build is to keep everything more or less period and generally for the car to be shelf queen (but with the occasional run). Sounds like it will fit the bill well...
