Pionion question

Post by Jschoenb »

I'm relatively new to rc cars/trucks and I finally got my two RC10t bashers running after about a year. I was wondering if I need special pinions specific to the for the RC10t (stealth tranny) or will any do?
Thanks

any company's pinion will work, as long as it's the same pitch as the spur gear on the trans.

Thanks for getting back to me. Might sound like a dumb question but how do I know what the pitch is on my spur gear?

it'll tell ya on the pack when you buy them.

honestly, i don't know if there's a method to check the pitch. i just know by looking at them. if your not sure, i'd just buy a new spur and pinion in the same pitch. 48 pitch would work just fine.

they should have 48p spurs on them unless somebody swapped ia different one.

you can also buy a pinion set off tower that has like 5 different pinions in it so you can play around with gearing.

i feel like i should have a sig that's a disclaimer saying i could be wrong on any advice i give...
