Yokomo MX-4 Prototype Parts

Post by mikedealer »

Greetings all,
So i was going through my storage container and found my old Yokomo MX-4, in really great shape, thinking about re-doing and restoring it. i have the MUTHALOAD of parts for this car as i ran it hard and for a long time, even after the mr4bc came out, i thought this car by far rivaled it.

Anyway was wondering if anyone has parts for this great car, buying/swapping anything anyone has.

I also found a bunch of prototype parts for this car, and yes im positive they are from the prototype as me and a friend used to race out in california in the late 80's and early 90's and he actually proto-typed the car for yokomo. Dont have too many prototype parts since i think he kept the original prototype car, but i have things like custom machined delrin bulkheads and the white steering savers and other random parts, also a unpainted prototype bottom tray and body i think..

Pictures to come soon, and here are some prototype pictures i dug up on the net, sorry the german

You can still buy many parts for the good 'ole MX-4 directly from http://yokomousa.com/
I still race mine since I can still get parts for it from them
Besides, a newer double deck graphite 4-wheeler will set you back quite some dough.

BTW, welcome to the board!

thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the tip, didnt actually think yokomo would still stock parts for it, i guess alot of the parts are actually shared with the mr4 tc so it would make sense
thanks

No prob. They sell the updated front shock tower still too. You can get MX-4 rims, a-arms, bulkheads, hubs, and the hard to find body/under tray from them as well. Well, maybe not so htf anymore, since you know where to buy them now without paying rediculous prices on ebay!

Use these parts numbers matched with pictures from the keil site if you don't have a manual:
