Re: I wish I had one of these when I was a kid...
COOL! It is always good to have another enthusiast/resource for all aspects of the hobby. I don't have any plans to do stuff for other people in the near future. The 1/10th scale parts are a "trial run" so to speak. I have designed (about 3 years ago ! ) a very advanced 1/8th scale nitro buggy that I have been dying to build from scratch. I have been scratch building for many years, but I have been so busy in these last years, that I have had no time to build, and very little time to race. I am really pushing (at the expense of family, work, house, -the usual) to get it together this season though . This was one of the hurdles that I needed to get over as my manual machining skills pale compared to my 3D modeling skills. Thanks for the input, I have two other mills I plan on working with. A Taig manual, and a scratch built unit that is all ball screws and linear roller bearings. It is a really nice high end unit, that I am putting together from pieces (industrial and medical surplus). If and when I finish it, I will post pics (it will be a while though). -Jeff

Just an update. I had a bug to work on some more XX4 stuff. I decided to re-design the rear tower, as it tends to be a weak spot on the cars. I think this will solve the problem. I also added another set of wing mounting positions. First you will see my new flat Carbon fiber piece, then a modified Losi rear tower/bulkhead, well you get the idea. I am planning on producing the C/F part, so give me your feedback. Thanks-Jeff

Beautiful work! Cut that XX4 rear mount out of 2.5mm or thicker uni-directional weave CF and you have yourself a winner and a buyer.

That piece is 2.65 mm DA Graphite quasi-isotropic C/F sheet. That is the material I have at the moment. I will come up with a cost pretty soon. I eventually will use 3mm woven face C/F, but it will be a while. -Jeff
