Vintage RC10 running on track

Post by Ruffy »

Found this video on youtube by accident today, has some guy running his vintage RC10 buggy and body paint around a carpet off-road race track.
Nice job!

By the way, how do I embed youtube videos here?
:D

Cool stuff.

To embed a youtube video, click on the "youtube" button rather than "URL". Only include the part after the =, e.g. FQOd1bVCaIg

Nice video! thanks for sharing.

I think it would be fun to race on a carpet off-road track. No need to clean the car after :-)

Awesome stuff, but some times I think carpet "off-road" is not real off-road. I may get some heat from this comment but even the blue groove track doesn’t feel to me like real off-road. I am guessing they started this when indoor track started to evolve. It is not a bad idea but I may call it something different. :D

We raced on normal touring car carpet tracks with removable jumps

The jumps was only used for a short time
ppl starter to use foam tyres and lower there buggy's

And in the end the buggy class was phased out :(

Oh, I see that the vid of my bud Christian made it overseas. We´re glad you like it.

Driving my RC10 on our carpet track was a lot of fun to me. Although the old tires didnt have much traction. The steering is pretty worn also, as you can tell by the maneuvers I made

I just set up another gold pan RC10 just for carpet racing. But thats a another story. I´m gonna open up a thread on the how to use newschool parts in an oldschool car in a minute.

Here you can read how it all got started http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5559

Carpet racing 's been around for a long time for off-road. It's a great aid to simplify track maintenance especially when the track is not liased to a shop and depends on volunteers. Check out his vid of a race I participated at in 2009. No way you could survive a single heat with a lowered car on this track.
