How's the San Diego RC racing scene?

Post by Brandon G »

The family and I are going on vacation in San Diego next week. Just wondering if any locals know of any tracks in the area that I MUST check out?

B- What? Don't have time to catch the 0-7 Padres?

Hopefully you'll have a car and time to drive. These days I know as much as you do about the tracks (see google  ), as I'm just sitting at home building stuff. (Which is why I'm on this forum and not any of the others  ). And it really seems the best ones are a haul to get to. Good luck.

This is not updated as much as it could be, but more up my ally these days...Bash Spots

discount hobby warehouse in Clairemont Mesa. They only race on road every other sunday in the parking lot. If you want off road I think OCRC in Huntington Beach is the closest, only an hour or so from San Diego.

x2, If you can do the drive, OCRC would be a good idea, better than those others that are out east and up in Temecula.

The track in Temecula (A.R.C.) is actually pretty decent. I'm a little biased though as I'm only a couple miles down the road from it. It's an 8th scale track though so the jumps are huge a far apart for a 1/10. And right now it's just waaaaay to damn hot to go out there...

I do miss the Discount Hobby Warehouse off-road track in San Diego. It was at their old location years and years ago. That was where I raced my 10T back in the day. Super fun track!

Where specifically in SD are you staying Brandon?

Yeah, where are you staying? We might just drop into your hotel room and make ourselves at home.

DHW's offroad track was where I raced until I left for the Air Force in 98.

I think Barona has an outdoor track down in SD. I know they run short course and 1/8th.
