I've never heard of Grisom wheels, do you have some pics or link?
Jim means GISOM wheels. They were alloy versions of Hotshot wheels. The red adaptors were made by them as well. Picture below shows a set of them on my Hotshot.
Hot Trick Hotshot adaptors were more substantial with roll pins to give drive.
Hot Trick offered an swing arm (or IRS) rear suspension kit that was universal for their Ultima, Optima, or RC10 Chassis kits and they call it the RAM Rear Suspension. If you look at the RC10 on the Timetunnel link you posted, you will see what I am talking about. I have a kit NIP, but it is in my storage unit. Hope that helps.
I picked this old thing up at a swap meet, does anyone know what exactly these are and what the scoop is?

This thread reminds me of the Fox my younger brother had. After suffering his second Tamiya chassis failure I talked him into ordering the basic Hot Trick Fox kit. I think I had some of their parts on my frog at that point. The HT chassis proved...
I see that RC Lohas have released a repro version of the Red Fox. See here:
I must say that I really rate what they are doing by re-creating the vintage Hot Trick parts. I understand that Hot Trick were not to everyone's taste bitd but it is great...

Just wait Lowgear, eventually someone will be reproducing Turbo Hoppers. Nothing is safe.
I posted before about finding a new in box Hot Trick Red Fox (see here:
Well, I finished the car up awhile back and I'm posting a few pics of the Fox on the shelf. It was a fun build and I like the way it turned out. Looks good on the official Hot...

Transamman908, they seem to be fine like they are. I always like my shelfers to at least have the potential to work. There is a big nut behind each shock. I see how you could mount them both outside (I may try that to see how it looks to me). It...
Backstory: Two cars in particular are my nostalgic favorites, the Optima and the Fox. My buddy and I both got two used cars as teens in the mid to late 80s (me the Optima and him the Fox). My car was faster and handled better, but broke more. I...

thanks LurkingCAT, the Red Fox looks great in your museum.
I should probably introduce myself properly since I've only been a member for a short while.
My name is Fredrik. I live in Sweden with my wife and daughter.
I got my first real car in a Ultima 2 (2nd gen/yellow) for christmas when I was...

Hello Walfre, I know this is an old post but I feel responsible being that you purchased parts from me to progress this build. Hope all is well and would like an update if possible...
Does the Hot Trick Red Fox chassis mount to a stock Fox front end? For the rear you can mount the Hot Trick rear kit or the stock Fox rear end. For the front, the catalog and anything I have seen says you must use the Hot Trick Red Fox front end or...

Losiman,
Thanks for the links. The Red Prince with the RC10 front Is wild.
To put the front end of the Fox on with the mono shock and all, you would have to cut the chassis and attach it to the holes on the Red Fox. I don't think it would work at...
I've recently purchased one of the Lohas Red Fox kits and intend to embark upon the build shortly. Firstly, I must say that the quality of the Lohas kit is top grade - Emerson has done a fantastic...

It's cool they repop'd a few of these. This looks awesome. I wish I would have known, I'd have bought one to store in a box next to my og stuff. :P
Where did you get the body from?
Small note: Your rear lower shock mounts are supposed to be on...
Hi guys
I bought this Hot Trick chassis for the Tamiya Fox some months ago. I am a real Fox addict so I could not resist. I later also bought some RC10 shocks and a Protech bodyset, so it is coming along slowly. Now I only need the dual front shock...

I've just seen this post. Nice Hot Trick Fox. In terms of the wing, you may wish to mount it the same way as I mounted mine on the my Lohas Red Fox (Hot Trick repro). See this link here: . I used Tecnacraft quick release mounts and fed the wing wire...
