The dye job turned out nice. Looks like a really good project, so far (except for that chassis). The Hot Trick front plate is a really cool addition. I liked the one I had. It made a noticeable difference to me in stability when I raced oval.

Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the encouraging words gents. I'm waiting on the new chassis I won on Ebay last week. The only thing is it was deanodized to bare metal. I'm thinking of having it reanodized gold. Keeping all options open at the moment.

Joel,
I saw that chassis on ebay. If it were mine, I would have it re-anodized as close to original as I could, since most of the prep work has been done. I've been debating doing that with my build. Personally, I think the gold tub is a "mandatory trademark"....but that's just me.

Russ, I'm in line with you Bro. The only dilemma is not having a place near me that does anodizing. Rats! Do any of you gents know of a business that does anodizing that won't break the bank?

HI!... You could always get it powder coated. Most powder coating places can match most colours. That's what I'm doing with my gold tubs. My P/C guy only charges $17 to do a tub/front plate/motor plate.

I was debating powder coating, since it's more readily available, but my concern was matching the gold.
BTW, that's not a bad price for the work, H.P.

Project "Cheese Grater" is coming along quite well. I'm going to run it as is while the other tub gets either powder coated or anodized. Here are a few pics. I'm replacing all nuts and bolts with stainless steel stuff. I had to Macgyver the steering a bit and hoping it works. Hope to have it running by tomorrow.

The parts are cleaning up nicely, but when you get the new chassis, you may want to use a bellcrank linkage. The direct steering does weird things when you compress the suspension.

Hey Russ, I noticed that when I completed the setup. The wheels turn inward when the suspension is compressed. Hmm, back to the drawing board. But for now, I'm taking a two day break.

joel, that is bump-steer. you can use RC10 GT parts, with the nose plate screws from the same car. someone may have the part #s handy, they are still available at most decent hobby shops.
