[quote="shirochanwrx"]The Hydra-drive was a Losi product, and was essentially a viscous coupling between the motor and the friction slipper plate for additional torque control on slippery tracks.[quote]

Most of us are familar with the Hydra Drive, I think what lonestar was referring to, was that the topshaft to fit a "Hydra" was actually offered from Traxxas.

BTW, those Traxxas racers are amazingly cool!!!! Bandit like, yet somehow, much cooler :)

Incidentally, I didn't know hydradrive excised either! A quick Google reveals it is hydraulic slipper clutch type system. Sounds nightmarish to maintain, is it? How does it work? Is it anywhere near as complex as a torque converter?

BTW, keep up the good work, nice to see people maintaining all these old RC cars :)

I wasn't trying to insult anyone's intelligence! I was just answering cunawarit's general question, ergo, the general response.

Its ok, No offense! It was just a bit odd being that there was no qoute from the other member and as such a bit unclear, but it is ok.

Ken's has two TRX3 bodies on the way to me. I am excited to see his work as are my two naked TRX3s (well one TRX3 and one TCP). Thanks Ken!
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.
