Showcase's Team Car style painted bodies "Double Team"

Post by Showcase1186 »

I was practicing airbrushing and figured I'd do a couple extra, they are in BST. The blue viper team car body has a very small blemish on the nose. Whatcha think?

Here is the nose blemish:

Here is a better pic of the Red Graphite scheme:

These are based on this vintage advertisement:

I also have a Protech body I did a retro paint scheme on.

Really nice! I've painted one myself and found that it was one of my favorite paint schemes to paint so far.

What paints and colour codes did you use to paint the blue team car body, if you don't mind me asking. I'd like to recreate a similar body....

For the silver stripes I used the 3m pin stripe kit from advance auto parts.
I used all parma fas kolor paint.
fas black, fas blue, florescent red, fas yellow.
Backed it all in rattle can white.
The fade was done only using florescent red and yellow. For the fade shoot the yellow 1st and fan it out in the middle where they meet. Be sure to shoot it darker where you really want the yellow to pop. Then shoot the florescent red lightly at 1st to see how it's acting (which really looks kinda pinkish) and fan it out in the center to your desire. I tested on a couple clear lexan strips 1st.
Hope this answers your question :)

Finished the original team car ad bodies I'll be keeping for my collection. Thought I'd share.
