On my long list of things I want to try but haven't yet. :?

They're both Mod ,6 and 40tooth so diameter is a match but it could be to wide across to fit in the case.

Does Tamiya sell the diff rings seperate from the rest of the parts or is it all only available as a complete kit. If no one picks up production of Stealth outdrives it could eventually become just as cost effective to run an SP-1.

Finally got around to buying a SRB diff to try this out and can confirm that the Tamiya ball diff does fit in an SP-1 trans.

Only real issue is that the shafts that the drive cups attach to are much longer on the Tamiya part than on the stock SP-1 diff so they'll need to be cut down and a new flat area filed at the end of the shafts.

I did the same thing with the Thorp Ball diff, for the SRB into the SP-1 about 25 years ago. Little tough grinding down the long out-drive adapters. Got it done though.

About 4 or 5 years ago those same Thorp Ball diffs for the SRB were going for $200.00. Easy come easy go.

My major gripe is that the brass gear makes the diff noticeably heavier than the an aluminum SP-1 diff assembly. :?

When you guys say SP-1 you are talking about the RC10 MIP tranny right? Does this mean it would also fit in the stealth tranny?

Yeah, talking about the MIP SP-1 trans....and that's the only RC10 trans the SRB diff will work with. Won't work at all in a Stealth.

I only used the Thorp Ball diff. in the MIP trans, the idler was the MIP delrin turbo gear with the non-brass MIP top gear and shaft.
