RC10T2 Hoarding

Post by RC10th »

The RC10T2 has always had a special place in my heart as it was the first stadium truck I bought. That particular truck has been extensively modified and is a time warp from a past era. I've been trying to restore at least one truck of each model back to original for a timeline.

I have a second T2 that I've owned for quite some time, this is the truck I was trying to restore back to "out of the box" and have been accumulating parts to restore it back to original. I have all the parts to do so except the chassis which I've been trying to find for what seems like 6 months now. Without having much luck I pretty much gave up.

Anyways, this new built but never run T2 popped up on ebay which I bought for what I thought was a good price. Upon receiving it and inspecting it it's in remarkable shape, 100% original down to the raised dot screws (which aren't even chewed out thankfully) None of the original steel hardware is rusted so it will truely be as it would have come out of the box. Luckily whoever built it had some idea and built it correctly.

I'm really looking forward to and excited about this one, breaking out the old manual and building it like I did back in the day.

So far all I've done is strip it down and give all the plastics a good scrub. I hope to have this one completed within a few days. The only thing missing is the original #7822 Proline XTR mini pins. Pro 98's?

Here she is all finished, I stayed up till 1:30am putting it back together with the manual just like a kid.

This is definately one of my favorites. I need to buy a new gear cover too as the one I had was second hand

Thanks, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Not sure if I'm going to paint the body or not. I bought a couple of spare bodies so I guess I could paint one of them and change it up every once in a while.

I think some of them came with Bowtie rear tires as well!

Another alternative would be Losi tires, directionals on front, mini pin rear... "à la Pavidis" :)

Luckily I already had the rear tires waiting to be used for something. Although they are not "correct" they are the same vintage. The originals would have been proline mini pins.

Finding early proline truck tires with writing on one side is difficult. I've bought proline Edges in the blue boxes to find they had the new writing on them. Bowties first appeared on the T3 if I remember correctly.

Your T2 is looking pretty good vale.....

Thank you RC10th :) I'm happy with the result. Just waiting for the body (Pavidis Replica) and the right tires :)

Really nice build. Looks awesome :D
I do wish that my build will be just as great. Currently waiting on rear tires, body and the re anodizing of the chassis.

Here is T2 #2, I finally gave up and put it together with the old chassis. I also ordered some new rear inner pins as I thought I had some but didn't. All in all it came out pretty good I think.

I thought about painting it to hide the ugly factor, I'd rather replace it although finding a chassis is much much harder then I thought.
