Re: Just bought this...
Sorry I didn't reply to the PM but yes that one is worth it, although it appears to need a few parts
It is much better off then the other one you were thinking of buying AND the electronics are suitable to vintage racing
That looks to be a very early one and likely has a blank motor plate, you are going to need to find a different battery cup and shock clamps however as those ones look like they are passed their prime

Re: Just bought this...
I saw that one - that orange is a pretty good match for the wheels.
You might also want to lose that bumper
(To me it just doesn't look right)

Re: Just bought this...
Yeah, jrx2s look best with minimalist front ends they were advertised with... granted they survive better with large bumpers but *shrug* Looks over function

Re: Just bought this...
If you're going to race it, I'd also aim convert the LRM gear box to run a dual disk slipper in order to protect/ save the diff from melting. You'll need these parts:
A-3120 Hydra-Drive/ Friction Slipper Shaft
A-3121 Hydra-Drive/ Friction Slipper Backing Plate
And if it's got an early type pinion shaft (part # 46 in the JRX-2 manual) - one that has a press fit brass pinion gear, then you'll also need this part:
A-3022 22T Transmission Pinion Gear
With these three parts fitted, you'll be able to run Losi or AE spur gears.
Be sure to use the correct slipper plate with the long boss (that you can see in the photo above) or the slipper shaft will bind up.
Looking forward to your build

Re: Just bought this...
Thats a great looking color and car....tear down and build back up...add slipper clutch and modern gear...run her hard!
I would not take off that bumper...I put that sucker on and I have zero broken parts knock on wood for several weeks now.
Protect your car !!parts can be hard to find and go up in prices too.

Glad to be back in this hobby so many many years later. To see new things and to recollect on ALL cool vintage models!

Re: Just bought this...
Definitely looks like an early car...even has the round sidewall tires too. Hard to see if the transmission out drive spacers are aluminum. Motor plate looks blank and side bulkheads don't have the extra webbing.
