$35 RC10 RTR

Post by knucklebuster »

Finally got around to adding the electronics and running around on the street. I thought the speed control would pop at any minute... it could have cooked a side of beef. I've run it five times with variety of gear ratios and the esc keeps taking more. The motor is a pink Trinity Speed Gem that I have not yet needed to service... anyone know the turns?

Funny thing is I plugged the battery into the motor lead on the first go and had almost had a melt down (both leads are male Tamiya). I effectively de-soldered the motor leads from the board. I soldered the leads back and the esc still goes like stink.

Thanks Asso_man! I see you have some nicely polished parts also. The shocks/engine mount were like new so I decided not to polish.

Thanks MelvinsArmy. I should have updated the original post ($35 RC10) which lists all the goodies that came with the ebay auction. The before pic in the original post is the actual auction pic. The parts added to the car bring it a little over $35 ;) Many of the added parts are from lot auctions too.

I had about 20 runs on the motor and decided to cut the comm. I was disappointed to find no markings on the armature. Anyone know the specs on this motor?

I repositioned the front and rear shocks and haven't stripped any more rear shock rod ends. Also found some foams in the parents' attic.

Add to busted parts... bumper, bent dog bone.

Its kinda hard to tell the color of the motor can in the pic, but if it is a reddish/florescent red then it is a 16 triple (speed gems ruby). If it is more of a florescent orange can, then it is an 11 triple (speed gems topaz).
