Info on Reedy vintage motor

Post by RS Chris »

Just purchased this motor. Supposed to be a Mach II stock motor, has stand up brushes. Any other info would be appreciated.

Most, if not all early non rebuildable stock motors had stand up brushes..

It wasn't until the mid to late 90's that laydown brushed appeared in stock motors.. (Was the Trinity Midnight the first to use laydown brushes?)

Information that I found on the web suggests it has 36* - 45* of timing..

What else would you like to know?

Same motor that came in the rc10T bushing truck kits in the middle to late 1990s.

It was the TRU stock that came in the kits, or at least with the one I bought back in 96. This motor will go into that when it's done being rebuilt. I thought it was a Sonic mod motor at first, looks really close.

Tested out the motor earlier in the 10T. Pretty impressive for how old it is. It was definitely undergeared but pulled some nice wheelies and sounded smooth and clean. Didn't appear to have much time on it either. I'm happy.
