finally a runner for the dog

Post by shodog »

here is the start of my runner. I have done some work to it but I still have a few more parts to swtich around on it.

I have a set of composite craft shock towers and battery strap. I have some aluminum turnbuckles and RPM ball cups to replace the worn stock ones. I am also considering using an MIP transmission. The problem I have is that I have to resist the temptaion of tricking this thing out to the point where it's too nice to run.

Quick question, who made this cool bearing holder the transmission

you have that problem, too?

Nice runner. Be sure to give it a clean paint job  Nothing beats running your car and telling yourself, "man, not only does this thing run well, it looks SWEET!"

The RC10 graphite with the six gear gear box and gold shockers is my all time
favourite RC10.The alloy wheels look great too.I hope It doesn't get smashed up
on the track.

I dig it, but my only (selfish) question is why the big dollar rare Thorp aluminum wing (that you outbid me on) on a runner? A nice $4 Associated lexan wing would do just fine, be period correct and wouldn't have most of us cringing at the thought of that car flipping upside down on an asphalt driveway.

I usually run my vintage runners with care. Eau, I spent quite a bit for that wing only to be dissapointed with the sides being bent all up. That's what makes it perfect for a runner.

That's a good enough reason for me. I think there have been far too many eBay disappointments recently, for my tastes. :?

The same thing happened to me recently too! I have been adjusting mine gently back to being straight again but it is very annoying and time consuming.

Oh cool car btw.
