Nice paint scheme, metallic blue goes well with the gold anodising. Top job!

Thanks for the comments, I didn’t really have much of a vision on the paint, just grabbed some colours that I already had, and some masking tape. I couldn’t be happier with the result.

Got the driver, spotties and window nets done

There are plenty on ebay search for dubro 180, these are the original part. Now discontinued by dubro but are plentiful on ebay.
Thanks for this, just ordered 4 from a local seller on eBay (needed 4 for the ball cups)

Just won a job lot of old RX's, ESC's and Servo's.

The oldest ESC (of the 3) will be a Futaba MC110 (1987), Think that is what will be placed in the Edinger.

I fitted the old AE 05 closed blue end bell motor yesterday, as my others are green label and too "new" I feel.

There's also some Servo's coming, so will see whats there and maybe replace the Futaba thats in this now if one turns out to be more period correct

Picked up some the dubro ball ends today, not 100% happy with them, they are a bit bigger and more heavy duty than what would’ve been available back in the day. In this pic, you can see an “original” that was actually on the car so I’m assuming it’s era correct. I’ve has to shorten the new ones as well

Here they are all fitted up across the entire steering system

I guess at the end of the day, as this is a true survivor rebuild, overall I’m really happy with the car overall, once the front stabiliser parts and esc turn up, I’ll be able to call this done

The one you have in the pic on the left side is a Kyosho ball end from an optima/ultima

Oh ok, that was on this one on one of the rear links, but it also had Tamiya ones on it, seems the original owner used whatever back in the day as the originals broke.

The Dubros seem ok on there for now atleast

Thanks for the info

My Dubro parts for the front stabiliser turned up, now I need some (more) advice, what size set/grub screws do I need for the links, I’ve used some black ones (same as front suspension pin “locks”) but being black they are too visible I’d believe, so I’m guessing they used longer silver ones originally?

If you can find some regular #4 screws about half inch long, you could cut the heads off and use them. Or just wire wheeling the setscrews to remove the oxide coating

The original parts are 2-56 threaded rod zinc plated (galvanized) approximately 1/2" long each.

I swapped out the RX from a “G” type connectors to a “J” type to suit the Futaba MC110. So now the electrics are all fitted, all it needs is battery straps.

I understand all these electronics (except the motor) are a little bit “newer” than the buggy, but I’m running with the “it was upgraded” as these items were released

It just needs the battery straps and it’s complete, gonna take some “outside” pics today if we see some sunshine

Really nice! 8)
That one's a keeper.
I had one of those early blue end bell 05 motors once but I can't seem to find it now.
Looks good!
