RC10T bellcrank servo saver screw nut

Post by jbmeyer13 »

Does anyone know what the part# is for the lock nuts which secure the bellcrank/servo saver screws to the chassis? From looking at the parts diagram list it appears the only option is ASC6295. If not the part number what are the specs for that lock nut; diameter, etc.?

you mean just the nut for the top of the bellcrank post? Thats just a 4-40 thread. Standard was a nylon nut. There is no nut attaching the post to the chassis on the tub trucks, but when they went to the gt with the one piece chassis they used small pattern 8-32 nuts to take the place of the nose plate.

Just make sure to ask if they will be black or white, stock photos show white plastic but you will get black with the same numbers.....................................

I'm referring to the lock nut between the chassis and servo saver assembly. I have a set which is on my stealth replica and assumed they were from my original 10T. They seem to be smaller than typical nut and haven't been able to find a direct replacement via big box or local hardware stores.

yeah that is the small pattern nut, only used on the GT with the one piece chassis (in that location) but also used on the rear suspension mounts of the worlds car and 10T, and on the pan cars for the front suspension. Part number was 8182. They were aluminum originally and those are very tough to locate. Steel 8-32 small pattern with a 1/4" hex arent too bad at all. McMaster Carr is where I get mine. $4 for 100. https://www.mcmaster.com/90730A009

yeah, you won't find the aluminum ones very easily. I cut my own from 1/4" standoffs tapped for 8-32. the steel small pattern ones as Jeff indicated will work perfectly however.
