Hotshot suspension

Starting to put one of these together. Mainly because it was the first RC off road I built back when it came out. Shied away from it later because there were no parts available. You had to buy a whole kit to keep the suspension arms that seemed to go away quickly due to the goofy front shock geometry.

Anyone have any tips on upgrading the front end suspension? I still want to stay with the one shock arrangement though.

Here's a link to a You Tube video. It's a race with a hotshot in it. If you move the end of the video you will see footage which shows a unique HotShot four wheel independent suspension set up. It really looks the business and I'm trying to find out...

I've posted this in my TC showroom but wanted to share it here after renewing my appreciation of the trusty Hotshot!
The black alloy wheels were was the starting point for this project.The front and rear shocks are You – G, with Parma front and...

Nice Hotshot! I have those same wheels on a Supershot. They were made in the UK from a guy on ebay. He was selling these for a decent price about 4 years ago. Those Thorp spindles are a bear to find. I sadly sold mine last year :roll:

On a recent free Saturday afternoon (rarity indeed), I got in some local track time with my VONats Hotshot. There's a racer at our track who likes to take pictures and he's doing a great job! Thanks to Corey for the images. :D

Hi everybody,

Again a small presentation of project , this time it's a Tamiya .
A HOTSHOT 1 but in British Team version from the European Champ 86,
chassis GFK light, shocks and direction from Associated, red front CRP , handmade bumper, anti roll...

I bought this for my son, me and the wife assembled (mostly her) and I painted.
Had to be bright so he could see it well. Overall a very fun kit to build! It's got full bearings, and I will be dropping in a Sport tuned motor as soon as I get it...

I dont know a lot about Tamiyas, but I was wondering if there are any aftermarket shocks out there for the Tamiya Hotshot? I'm working on restoring an old Royal Ripper and the Hotshot shocks will work perfectly. Thanks!

I wound up using hot shot shocks on my ripper also. My car was assembled and never ran because the shocks broke...and the original owner gave up on it.
