Post by sandkil »

So I have have had this in the basement for a while..years actually. Figured I do a resto on it with this COVID-19 thing.
I'll do a complete teardown and rebuild accordingly

Another Kyosho model I never knew existed. ... and you appear to have an NOS body shell for it. Very cool!!!

The spring preload adjuster collars are similar to the ones on my vintage motorcycles. I've never seen those used on any other RC.

I'm very much looking forward to the next update. :D

It's in really good condition and.... I haven't decided if to cut that nos body up as it´s so rare.

Nice fix to fabricate that missing part. I also find myself doing that a lot, cutting up leftover parts and stuff to make other parts. I'd rather find a way to make something I need rather than spend money to buy it...because usually these vintage parts are ludicrously expensive or impossible to find. 8)

Sandkil, I really hope you cut and paint that body. I can't WAIT to see this car built with that body painted & mounted! To hell with rarity, the only fun you get with a kit like this is BUILDING it. And those scale series cars were such beauties, it would be a shame to build a chassis and not mount a body on it.
