My very first RC car restoration (A stamp RC10)

Post by Ears »

My build log:

I found my very first RC car which I been drooling over on the shelf at LHS back in 1986-87 (not sure which year), know i was 15-16 years old when I finally had enough money saved to pluck it off the shelf at Pat's Hobbies in Oak Lawn, IL (now closed) It had been sitting on top shelf for months and months before I got it...

I played with it for couple months then it went into storage at my parents attic for the past 30+ years until I pulled it out this year...

My goal is to restore it back to stock as box art RC10 as shown on the box it came with...

Looks like you got some good "bones" to start with.
I've built 1 or 2 cars myself and a lot of the fun is sourcing the parts as coxbros1 says above.
Hang in there and keep posting pics for all to see! We are behind you pushing all the way.
Remember it's either a runner or a shelfer. Everything else is just parts.

watch out for the vultures!

Absolutely awesome that you found your own car after all these years! And cool McAllister lowering kit. I'd actually leave it on, it's part of the car's history!

All the best,

Yeah guys. No parts pandering on the board. You wanna do that Facebook is the place for that

As for the lowering kit I agree with lonestar. You built it this way for your own reasons back then. It's in the car's pedigree. You could always build another one if you want boxart

Thanx
