sc10 4x4 help

Post by JosephS »

I'm not sure where to post this. I just realized my 'new' rig is about 8 years out of production.

So this is vintage but not antique.

The servo saver is a very specific part that doesn't appear common to other kits.
ASC91000: Associated Servo Saver/Bellcrank SC10 4x4

honestly I would rather have my servo shatter than this part as I can't seem to find one.
Does anyone have a good resource I can use to find this part, or at least point me in the right direction?
None of the google results seem to have this in stock.

I bought this kit before I realized that Associated was now a Chinese brand and the parts are made of a brittle plastic.

From memory it was one of the first few steps in building the truck and if you didn't put it in when they said you had to disassemble half the truck to do so.

Yes. Yes that is true. It was my first car back to RC after 20 years and I wanted a 'harder'build

I missed that one unfortunately. I was able to grab a new one just recently off amazon and paid quite a bit for it.
right after my order it was immediately sold out again. Still I actually have the part in my possession and it is a new factory part.
So this weekend I can take my truck apart and give it some life.

Thanks all for helping

So as an edit.... I took the truck apart, you need to removed the drive drain and most of the front end. I opened the package and looked at the parts.
The parts bag was mis-packed from the factory. It had all of the parts except the one I needed and 2 of a different one.

I am epoxying the broken peices together. I'll have to see how well that works. Consider the stress placed on it I am not at all expecting any kind of longevity from this part

Thanks. I'll see how well my epoxy goes together. At this point I should get something supported by the manufacturer. I am spooked at this point because the last part I bought was factory sealed, it was just packed wrong. I was able to get a full refund with no hassle from Amazon. I wonder if that was common.
