Works 91

Post by Synergy »

So I’ve been on the fence ready to pull the trigger on a rere XLS or Optima but for some reason I just could not bring myself to fire. As the last few years have passed I’ve kind of fallen out of love with the entire rere thing. It kind of happened after I bought a rere gold pan and sold it not long after, it just did not give me a buzz.

So instead I dropped the money on this, the intention is to add some Dynotech arms and run it at next years UK ICONIC Revival with my 870C and a couple of RC10s.

I’m just waiting for it to arrive so I can get a start on evaluating it.

It arrived last week and all is better than well. It has turned out to be a lovely model and really nicely put together.

Next job for me is to do a little swapping and changing to get where I want to be which is a 91 and a standard ish 870C racers for the 2021 Revival. I’ve ordered a set of Dynotech arms and just wait their arrival. I’ll be making a trip to Fybre-Lite to have a Strates style top deck (like the one shown below) made for the 91 just to give that extra front bulkhead support.

Below is my modified 870C, I have decided to swap the 91 chassis from this onto the just purchased 91 as it is already drilled for the A&L steering. I will then refit the original 870C Chassis and fit JC Racing 870C 2.2 wheels as it currently sits on Works 91 wheels using special adaptors.

Top deck done and it’s a perfect fit, should be on Fibre Lyte’s website very soon. Not available in the weave shown only in standard weave which matches more modern carbon fibre parts.

They can now also produce none modified versions for the 870C.
