Extreme Motorsports motors

Post by K Rob »

Can anyone help with some info on Extreme motors please? I found pretty much nothing other than a couple of winds listed in the sticky in this section.
Just got a couple as I remember seeing them in the magazines in the early 90's (I think) and I'm a sucker for nostalgia.
Some guys used them successfully in 12th circuit here in the UK IIRC, but they were not seen in off-road.
Same sticker on the two I have but different cans. One is a D2 and the other a 5.0.

For anyone interested I did get some info from some guys on FB (Mike Haswell and Jamie Booth - who both have some experience  ).
Extreme motors were done by Eric Sonderquist who had previously worked for Twister, and he went on to do the Maxtec range of motors in the mid/late 90's (with backing from a guy known as 'Super Rat' apparently).
The Maxtec motors were used at the top level in off-road - Barry Baker, Greg Hodapp, William Mitchum.
Didn't get anything on Extreme race results or drivers though.
