Left overs from my original Optima and Turbo restos
Thought about anno or powder, but these parts are not in great shape, so decided to try something else

That's surprisingly effective
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re-re cage, wheels and wing, tyres from MarwanRC, spur from Shapeways, wing mounts from Pargu, and 2 new driveshafts.

Re: Left overs from my original Optima and Turbo restos
Since these pics I’ve shortened the travel on the front shocks a bit (but springs are way too hard), and lengthened the bottom links on the rear. The towers I used I got years ago from I don’t even know where, the rear is way longer than standard, Happy to now have a Javelin sitting amongst my other Kyosho buggies.

The blue and the neon yellow work together quite nicely.

Looking good Kym, it doesn't look like a leftover parts type of build.
I like those tires nice and spikey !

Thanks RJ, yeah I’m pretty happy how it turned out. The original “Sand Supers” are way better looking than what came out on the legendary series

Re: Left overs from my original Optima and Turbo restos
Off road tire options just aren't as cool as they used to be. Proline, Duratrax, Troll, Associated, Kyosho, etc used to have great pattern options. Carpet 'off road' racing has turned it all into just little sesame seeds on the tires. Why don't they just use double sided tape? Or the hook side of Velcro? Maybe the 'beard stubble' grip pattern is the next trend.
