How are you finding your local deals?morrisey0 wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 7:27 pmIt gets a little worse! For some reason, the 410 is plugged into the RX, but the motor is plugged into, what appears to be, some sort of homemade ESC creation???
It doesn't matter as it has been quite a while since I have bought a RC10 because ANY condition RC10 is $300+ around here these days! The prices started to drop post lock-down, but they are holding on high, or going higher, for some reason. I used to be able to search enough to find the deals pretty frequently, but it has dried up recently. I have never paid more than $150 for a RC10 (save my almost NIB rere), and I just can't see myself starting now. I paid $100 for this example plus the radios / electronics (he wanted $75), and it regained my faith that the deals are still out there ................ just spread out a lot further. And I have been hyped about building a RC10 MT conversion lately, so getting a cheap donor is a super plus right now!
So what did you get in the post today ???

If there is ever an RC Jeopardy Jeff wins hands down!GoMachV wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 12:50 amLooks like an aircraft on-off speed control. The push button next to the switch “arms” the relay so you don’t take off fingers with the prop. It supplies the receiver with power but doesn’t take up a channel. Just runs the motor till the battery is dead and leaves enough power to glide inmorrisey0 wrote: It gets a little worse! Local pick up, newish (2015) RC10 SC5M Team kit. Aside from a few scuffs on the bottom of the chassis, it is in next to new shape.
Rod said he ran it at RC Gears and won a lot. I need to try it on the track. A $hit load of tires and wheels with it. Awesome deal.
Two lipos and whack of NIP parts. Just gotta show it off! Should be a fun truck to rip around.

Got myself another Panda EP Danny Thompson stadium racer with vintage radio gear. It was listed as a Baja 250, the seller obviously didn't research it. I now have two EP's and one NP!

The beginnings of a 4wd off-road conversion project arrived. Step 1: start with an RC cadaver...

Got a Hitec HFX esc.
Not that I wanted another esc without reverse, but I wanted something small enough to fit on a TQ10 chassis, but wouldn't look too out of place. Should look fine, opposite of a Hitec Shredder receiver.

I've been watching for a reasonably priced carcass for a Hornet project. What I ended up with is a nicely upgraded former shelfer. In the Toy Story scheme of things, I'm a bit more of a Sid than an Andy, so this will meet the need nicely. It's shelfer days are done.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I do really like the Mugen Manx body. One of my friends had both an RC10 and a Mugen Manx BITD. The Manx never got driven. Ever. My other friend had a Hornet and later a Turbo Optima Mid SE. The Hornet had a lot of weaknesses but still had a goofy appeal.
This one is going to keep it's cosmetics for now, but will get a little more capability to go along with that Anytime Baby! sticker.

I don't usually post new stuff here. But since these are newly available, I thought it was a good idea.
I got a couple sets of the new LRP VTEC Kamikaze 10's. I had already purchased fronts, so I didn't get them.
Here they are, on some JC Racing wheels. For the price, I can't see you going wrong.
