vonBrauns Yokomo Corner (Works ’91)

Post by vonBraun »

So this is my best (and cheapest) Yokomo find yet!

It didn’t look like much at first glance but after having a closer look I noticed it’s originality and the lack of track dirt!
Of course the paint job and wheels combination looks super ugly but those could easily be changed.
So I jumped on it! Not that you could go wrong buying a sub 200 bucks Yokomo
I asked the seller if he had any spares for the car and after he did some digging he found another set of wheels and two battery packs.
I offered him some extra cash for it but he refused
Of course I went on a trip right after purchasing the car so it was a long wait
On a positive note I had some time getting up to speed on the 91-93 Works cars.

Anyways here are the pics from the ad. More to follow soon…

First stage complete!

The wheels turned out to be the original kit wheels that were brush painted black. The pink was protected by the paint so it’s still super rich and not faded at all!

Gave the chassis a quick wipe down and the metal parts a good polish. Also started to take the paint of the wing and body. Raw steel parts are going to get a light oil coating.

Still need to clean the bearings and diffs and rearrange the electronics.

I also noticed that the front belt and pulleys were at some point replaced with a M3 setup. I‘m hoping to find the original M2 parts for a decent price.
